So, today i traveled down to Middlesbrough to meet with Jamie Boyle for a planning session about the Lee Duffy documentary that we are starting filming on very soon.
Spent the day looking at some locations that have featured heavily in Lee’s life including the spot where he Sadly met his untimely demise.
Had a great chat with someone I hadn’t met before, “The Mad Axeman” aka Terry Dicko who has some amazing stories of back in the day and his friendship with Lee and it was great to see his genuine enthusiasm about the project as a whole, and what really shone through for me was his genuine love, admiration and respect for his friend that past 28 years ago in August.
I don’t pretend to be an expert on Lee Duffy, and I have said from the off that I had never even met the man, but today I have learned so much about someone who has become a cult figure on Teesside and I am genuinely looking forward throughout the course of this project to learning more about him, the good things and the bad.
We have a tight schedule setup and already have made an amazing start and we are looking to have to documentary complete by late August of this year when it will be available on both DVD and Download.
Make sure to pick up a copy of Jamie Boyle’s book Lee Duffy – The Whole Of The Moon which I am currently reading and looking forward to the next book on Duffy coming out
I think Jamie will agree we are setting out to make something that is factually correct and something that not only Lee’s family and friends would be pleased with but also that Lee would have been happy with.
Make sure to keep in eye on this page and the Lee Duffy Whole of the moon page, for updates and if you happen to see us filming in around Middlesbrough then please come and say hello and give us your insight and experiences with Lee.
Promo trailer will be out in around a week hitting all social media channels and hopefully the Teeside press.
